The Watertown Chess Club kicked off the 2012 Chess tournament Season with the annual Blitz Club Championship, a seven round eight player round robin on March 6th.
Adolfo Prieto and Robert Kratzat tied for first with records of +6-1=0.
This was a successful defense by Mr. Prieto of his 2011 undefeated 12-0 Championship.
This was the first club title for Mr. Kratzat. The two players share the early 2012 Club Championship Standings lead with ½ point each.
New club member Josh Kelsey impressed with a +5-2=0 record and a victory over Blitz Champion Adolfo Prieto.
